⚠️ Latest Travel Updates

Mexico’s travel situation has recently been affected by cartel-related violence following the death of a major cartel leader, which led to unrest, roadblocks and temporary disruptions in several states, including parts of Jalisco. Areas such as Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara experienced short-term flight cancellations and increased security presence. Although the situation has since begun to stabilise and most tourist services are operating as normal again, official advice still warns against all but essential travel to certain regions.

Popular resort areas such as Cancún and the Riviera Maya remain under standard caution levels and are not the primary areas affected by the recent incidents. However, travellers are advised to remain vigilant, follow local guidance, monitor official government travel advice before and during their trip, and ensure they have appropriate travel insurance in place that covers their chosen destination and activities.

💡Top Travel Tip

🚖 Choosing the Right Airport Transfer (Without the Stress)

How you leave the airport can shape your whole first day. Here’s how to decide quickly and confidently:
🚕 Private Transfer – Best for families, late arrivals or long-haul flights. You’re met in arrivals, fixed price, no queues — ideal when you just want to get to your hotel.
🚐 Shared Shuttle – A budget-friendly middle ground. You’ll share with other travellers, so journey times can be longer, but it’s cheaper than private and easier than navigating public transport.
🚆 Public Transport – Best for central city stays and light packers. Usually the cheapest option, but may involve stairs, transfers and walking with luggage.

💡 Air-Holiday tip: If you land late, travel with kids, or have lots of luggage, pre-booking is usually worth it. Public transport works brilliantly in some cities — but convenience is part of holiday value too.

💡 Why we recommend Holiday Extras:

After once being stranded at an airport abroad by a well-known package company — and waiting nearly two years for a refund — we now prioritise pre-booked, vetted transfers. Holiday Extras is easy to use, regularly discounts, bundle-friendly and works with trusted, reviewed providers.

Convenience matters. Reliability matters more.
