🚢 Christmas Market Cruises
Want to experience several Christmas markets without changing hotels every couple of nights? A Christmas market cruise lets you unpack once and wake up ready to explore a new festive destination — with the journey becoming part of the holiday too.

🎄 River Christmas Market Cruises
Europe’s rivers connect some of its best-known Christmas market destinations, with the Rhine and Danube offering particularly strong itineraries. The Rhine is a great choice for traditional German and Alsace Christmas markets. Routes can include Cologne, Strasbourg and smaller towns along the river.
The Danube brings together grand Central European cities, with festive itineraries often featuring Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava. You’ll also find Christmas sailings on other European rivers, including the Seine, combining winter scenery with stops in and around Paris.
Air-Holiday Insight
Don’t compare cruises by the number of stops alone. Check how long you actually get ashore — an evening departure can be a big advantage when Christmas markets are at their best after dark.
⚓ Fred. Olsen Christmas Market Cruises
Prefer to start your festive adventure closer to home? Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines offers Christmas market sailings departing from UK ports including Southampton, Liverpool and Portsmouth.
Its smaller ocean ships can reach destinations that feature on some particularly interesting festive itineraries, with ports potentially including Hamburg and Antwerp. Longer Northern European sailings may travel towards destinations such as Riga, Tallinn and Helsinki.
There’s more time at sea than on a typical river cruise, but there’s no flight to catch before your holiday begins — and your cabin travels with you throughout.
